Define the Love of aThing

Everyone has those necessities in life that they've come so accustomed to having that it would sincerely be impossible to live without. Here are mine.

Chapstick. That tiny little tube of heaven resting in my pocket constantly, is one thing that would break my heart to not have. It can take you from a pissed off mood, to a I'm-ready-for-anything attitude. When you're crying and salty tears run down your face, everything will be dry but your lips, because you just put on a fresh layer on heavenly moisture. Can you imagine walking around with chapped, dry as a desert, flakey lips? Chapstick is all one needs to bring their lips back to life. And how amazing, they come in so many different shapes, sizes, and colors. You can even have Dr.Pepper flavored lips, or Strawberry Kiwi! So many flavors to choose from no one needs to be plain and simple. You can even use it as a way to express who you are. Me? Well I'm an almond swirl kind of girl. And I'll be that way till I die.

Essenital number two: My phone. It sounds so petty and stupid to me, but when I think about it, whose life doesn't revovle around their phone? I'm sorry that I never know what's going to happen to me on a given day, and if it puts me back down in Florida, I want to be able to have the number of my friend from Disney who lives there now within a seconds grab. How about the fact that last summer I was an hour away from my home with a jeep whose engine had just died. My phone? not so helpful since it was dead. (partially my fault, seeing as I had no car charger.) But the lovely guys who rescued me, their phone was worth millions to me! I called my parents and had my Dad on the search for me in seconds. I never learned the value my phone had so much in my life till that night. The potential it is capable of holding seems endless with today's technology, but to me it will always be an infinite phone book and the connection to the friends and family that I love, with just the touch of my hand.

Coke Zero. I think I could drink close to a million gallons of coke zero and still not be sick of it! Tell me it doesn't have enough sugar in it, that you can tell it's a "diet" tasting pop, but guess what? If you drink it long enough I bet switching back to regular Coke, or even Diet Coke, you'd find it had an incredibably better flavor than either of those. I can't think of a single meal I wouldn't enjoy having a coke zero with. Not a particular time of day I couldn't drink one. Hell I had one this moring on my way to school! It's the perfect combination of caffine to get you going, taste to perk your senses, and love to make you feel happy inside. Whenever I feel like I can't finiish reading something, or can't stand listening to someone talk, I reach for a Coke Zero and I'm content to let the world pass by. I won't complain or make comments about how I wish I could be doing something else, or wish I were somewhere else. Grab yourself a can of coke zero and taste the blissful liquid joy. Let it slide down your throat and fill your insides with pure, organic paradise. If you don't like it, or understand why I feel the way I do please, call me an addict, call me crazy, tell me I have the worst taste in the world for loving Coke Zero. I'll just tell you I'm happy you don't like it and take the can out of your hand.

  1. Might make the post more interesting to weave in pictures of each item; see what happens. Try to avoid having these sound like too much like info-mericials. Any way to minimize what you say? Is there any connection between all three of these things, so we can maybe make some realizations about who you are and why you choose these three things?

  2. The image you have behind your title is perfect, I can't think of any other picture I would rather see there. Love! I don't know if it is just my computer but your font is a little small, I did not have trouble reading it because I have very good eyes but to someone else it might be hard.

While I was reading your post I was smiling because I have a similar infatuation with chapstick as well. Can I recommend chapstick from the gap? They have some really cool flavors--juicy guava is my favorite!
I thought that you did make a connection between yourself and the objects but including something a little more personal and making the reader want it would have spiced up the post a little.
    :) see you tuesday!

  3. I really like the color scheme. The bright colors pop against the background and the picture of palm trees makes me associate the brown background with wet sand. Very cool effect.

I know what you mean about the chapstick. I have some on me all the time. People tell me I practically eat the stuff, which is why I can't use the stuff with interesting flavors. I'll lick it off my lips and they'll get chapped!

I think Prof. Smydra has a point. By the end of the post, I felt sort of overwhelmed by your language.

  4. Okay I added some pictures and I do kinda like how it breaks up the text more now. Maybe the Chaptstick bit gets a little too much into detail but if you love chapstick the way I do.. I don't think it's necessary for me to explain why so much because you already get it.
The phone part is all about my personal experience so if anything I think I'm a little inconsistent with where I'm personal or not, but for the chapstick that's pretty close to what I was going for.

But good to note, no more posts written like this! thanks
